As a design agency, we've experienced these challenges from both sides.
At Pingd Ltd, we've hired freelancers for specialist projects, collaborated with remote talent around the world and worked alongside businesses looking for reliable creative professionals. We've seen first-hand how difficult it can be to find the right person, build trust quickly and manage projects with confidence.
Before founding Pingd Ltd, our Founder, Robert Nyquist, worked as a freelancer using many of today's largest marketplaces. While these platforms created opportunities, they also highlighted growing challenges. Finding quality work became increasingly difficult as competition intensified, bidding wars pushed prices lower and many projects were awarded based on cost rather than quality. Today, with AI handling many smaller tasks, freelancers face even greater pressure to stand out and build sustainable careers. Those experiences became one of the driving forces behind creating Wootly.
That experience led us to ask a simple question: What if there was a better way?
